BryLin Hospital: Compassionate, Crisis Mental Health Care

Mental WellnessOur mental health can be affected by many factors, and mental illness can occur at any point in our lives. Since it’s founding in Buffalo over 65 years ago, BryLin has been the trusted name for mental health care throughout Western New York for patients of all ages. Anyone can be affected. If you feel that you or someone you care about is experiencing mental health challenges, do not feel alone. Many of us experience these feelings or experiences at some point in our lives. It’s important to reach out for help.

Our comprehensive programs offer a close bond between provider, care recipient, and their family promoting trust, compassion, and hope. When someone shows signs of mental illness, whether we see it in our self or someone we care about, many feelings may arise when deciding how to best approach the individual’s mental wellness. Stigma or a personal set of feelings of confusion, doubt, fear, paranoia, being alone, different, or embarrassed, can all prevent us from seeking help for ourselves or our loved ones. We encourage you contact BryLin Hospital, Western New York’s only private psychiatric hospital, via email or by phone to learn how they can help.

BryLin Hospital, located on Delaware Ave. in Buffalo NY, is a short-term, crisis care, inpatient mental health treatment facility. BryLin Hospital offers both adult and child/adolescent inpatient mental health treatment for those experiencing acute emotional and behavioral disorders who benefit from a more structured environment and treatment plan.  It is here where a multidisciplinary team will develop a person centered, recovery oriented treatment plan to help stabilize the particular situation, followed by a collaborative discharge plan using supportive outpatient services. For more info on BryLin inpatient mental health treatment, please call 716-886-8200. A mental health professional will be glad to discuss your questions confidentially.

BryLin’s Center of Excellence in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Program, led by our Chief Medical Officer Sanjay Gupta, MD, is designed to foster integrated, evidence-based approaches to prevention, early detection, and treatment of a multitude of mental health diagnoses. The National Council for Mental Wellbeing and Dale Jarvis and Associates helped develop a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence framework for mental health and addiction service providers nationally and identify practice guidelines.

“This Center of Excellence designation recognizes BryLin’s ECT program as demonstrating a level of excellence within a set of expected standards set nationally. We’re very proud of this accomplishment”, said Eric Pleskow, President/CEO. Our ECT Program includes a highly qualified team of anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and support staff.
